Worldline
Helping Worldline enable Apple Pay and Google Pay for smaller financial institutions in the Baltics
Client profile
Worldline is a global leader in secure payments and trusted transactions. They are at the forefront of the digital revolution that is shaping new ways of paying, living, doing business, and building relationships that pass on trust along the entire payments value chain, enabling sustainable economic growth. Worldline is the major processor in the Baltics region, providing reliable issuing and acquiring services to the local ecosystem of banks, FinTechs, and PSPs for over a decade.
Project objectives
After Apple Pay and Google Pay penetrated the Baltics market and the first successful implementations went live in a few major banks, Worldline became keen to also enable these wallets to their portfolio of clients. For that Worldline needed a reliable technology partner who could supply Visa and Mastercard certified connectors to Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets.
Offered solution
D8 Corporation offered CMS Connectors part of the Cloud Based Tokenization Platform, which is specifically designed for connecting to issuing host systems and processing pre-digitization requests.
CMS Connectors module creates a secure link between Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other OEM wallets, and card issuers, since there are thousands of issuers worldwide and it would be unwise for OEM wallets to integrate directly with all of them. CMS Connectors securely process pre-digitization requests, that are required to verify the cardholder identity and the card status (validity, digitization enablement, and other parameters).
CMS connectors module is fully certified according to Visa and Mastercard requirements and was already implemented in dozens of organizations around the world.
Project results
As a result, Worldline launched Apple Pay and Google Pay for their clients in the Baltics, which substantially expanded the number of card issuers whose customers are able to digitize their cards. At the moment, more than 20 smaller banks and financial institutions have enabled their card portfolios for digitization in the Baltics, largely thanks to Worldline as their service provider.
